The men who did the damage for Golden Sticks were Solomon Barnor (24th and 35th) and Sampson Yeboah (65th) with Edward Oblie (62nd) pulling one back for the Marines.
In the final match of the day, Exchequers brightened their chances of retaining the Pepsi league trophy when they showed no mercy on youthful Kingsticks by putting 4 goals in their net without a reply. Eddie Odametey (22nd), Samuel Kwaw (24th and 38th) and Adjei ‘Bazooka’ Boateng (30th) did the damage and in the process take Exchequers back to the top of the league table with 1 point ahead of rivals Marine Sticks who have played one much more than the Central Bankers. If Exchequers win their penultimate league match against rejuvenated Veterans during the 24th week, that will effectively seal the championship and render their match against Marine sticks on the final day of competition a battle of wits and pride. Perhaps the Marines will want to prove to the Central Bankers that they are capable of beating them to reiterate their determination to break the dominance and stranglehold on Ghana hockey.
The rest of the scores are:
