Okwahu beat King Faisal

Nkawkaw: Okwawu United managed a 2-1 victory over King Faisal in their match played at the Nkawkaw Park.

Okwawu got both two goals in the first half while King Faisal pulled one back in the second session.

Faisal kicked off and wasted a corner-kick in the third minute but Okwawu, who took came close in the 25th, 27th and 30th minutes could utilise the chances.

The homesters atoned for their earlier misses in the 32nd minute as they scored the first goal through Bonsu Boateng when his 35-metre shot beat Sampson Appiah in posts for King Faisal.

Faisal stated playing it hard and rough when they could not contain the slippery Okwawu attackers.

The first victims to receive Accra-based referee, E.M. Laryea's yellow card were Faisal's Joe Louis and Ismaila Iddrissu of Okwawu for rough play.

In the 41st minute, Okwawu made it 2-0 when Essuman Dadzie's shot from Nii Aryee Tetteh's pass beat goalkeeper Appiah.

Faisal managed to pull a goal back through Isaac Owusu through a free-kick taken just outside the box.

At the end of the game, Faisal supporters went into their buses, armed themselves with all sorts of implements, including clubs and cutlasses and indiscriminately attacked the supporters of Okwawu.

In the process, stand-by referee J.K. Boateng of Koforidua was brutally assaulted.

According to a police source, four supporters of King Faisal sustained serious injuries and were sent to the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
