National Sports Council congratulates Gaisah

Accra, Aug 10, GNA 96 The National Sports Council (NSC) has sent a congratulatory message to Long Jumper Ignatius Gaisah for winning a gold medal at the on-going Africa Athletics Championship in Mauritius. A statement signed by Mr Samuel Amankwah for the Chief Executive of the Council, said the NSC on behalf of the sector ministry, the government and the good of people of Ghana 93wish to formally congratulate you once again for your sterling performance=94. It said, 93Ghana is solidly behind you and we wish you will continue to exercise discipline and commitment to achieve your best, which is yet to come.

=93You promised us three gold medals this year, you have just delivered the number two and registered Ghana on the medal table at the championships we therefore look forward for the third one=94. The statement added.

Gaisah won the nation's first medal at the competition on Tuesday. The Long Jumper also early this year won gold at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia.

He has for the past years been the torch bearer of the nation in international competitions.
