National Cycling Team Participates In Tour Du Togo

The 20th Edition of International Cycling Tour Du Togo commenced on Monday 18th
April, 2011 from Lome to Atakpame covering a distance of 158Km. Participating
countries include hosts; Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Cote D’Ivoire and
Ghana.

A gallant 17-man delegation comprising 5 officials and 12 cyclists is
representing Ghana in this 9-staged Tour. The team which was selected as the
best from the just ended Cowbell National Cycling Tour of Ghana includes;

The Tour however seeks to promote sporting fraternal relations among
participating countries as well as rank cyclists in the Zone. In all, the tour
will cover a total distance of 1,249km of which 722km will be for racing and
527km for transportation.

Team Ghana which placed 4th in the last edition has since left for Togo and is
expected back in the country on Monday 25th April, 2011.
The Ghana Cycling Association is very grateful to the Ministry of Youth and
Sports, National Sports Council, and all Stakeholders for their support aimed at
ensuring Ghana’s successful participation in this tour.
