MTN â?? Suncity Inter â?? Community Gala Kicks Off At Techiman

The inter – community soccer gala component of the MTN – Suncity Fest, 2016 celebrations kicked off at the Nana Akumfi Ameyaw Park at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region, over the weekend.

Eight Communities in the Techiman Municipality namely, Twimia Koase, Kenten, Zabon Zongo, Central Zongo, Dagomba Line, Central Town (Krom), Takofiano and Gyarko Line took park in the one – day tournament.

At the end of the keenly contested games, Kenten beat Central Zongo 3 – 2 on penalties to emerge winners. Stephen Owusu of Central Zongo was adjudged the Best Player of the competition, while the Best Goal Keeper and Goal King Awards went to Abdul Rauf and Solomon Kwarteng both of Kenten respectively.

The highly patronized and exciting tournament was described by the fans as the best organized event in the area, in the five - year history of the festival.

While officials of MTN, led by Mrs Salomey Darko Bruku, Marketing Manager, Northern Sector and Suncity Radio commended the Technical Team led by Mr Ntow Gyan an ex – Ghanaian International Soccer gem, and Nana Adarkwah, Assistant Coah of Premier side Techiman City, for a good work done, the participants also thanked the organizers for their immense contribution towards the development of football in the area and the Brong Ahafo Region as a whole.
