Legon renders apology on blotched inter hall competition

The University of Ghana, Legon has apologized to the sponsors of this year's inter hall athletics competition which was disrupted by students of Commonwealth Hall.

A statement released by the University Relations Officer condemned the attitude of those who caused the disruption, saying that such behaviour is detrimental to the image if the university.

It described the act as "blatant display of indiscipline by its students" and called on their well-meaning colleagues to condemn it. The statement however expressed contentment at the safety of all dignitaries and sponsors who were present at the occasion and refuted media reports that they were molested.

Meanwhile, the university is holding consultations with stakeholders to forestall a repetition in the future.
