Injured Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is backing Ghana to secure a fourth straight World Cup appearance without him.

The West Africans advanced to the group phase of the qualifying campaign after dispatching tricky Comoros side over a two-legged ties.

The Ghanaians will be heavily involved in the final qualifying round with qualification to a fourth straight World Cup berth top of the agenda.

Ghana have played at the last three editions of the global showpiece excelling in Germany and South Africa with their last fairy tale ended in havoc in Brazil 2014.

Ghana could play the qualifiers without the Juventus ace, who has been battling a knee injury for close to a year.

Asamoah has not featured for both club and country due to the setback amid growing fears he may be unavailable for the crucial qualifiers.

But the talented former Udinese midfielder insists his native country will thrive without him.

‘Ghana has a pool of talented players and any called-up fits in just well,’ he said

‘Even if I’m not available, there are equally good players who can qualify the country to the World Cup.

‘We have the men capable of doing well for our country without me. I’m confident we’ll be in Russia in 2018. We just have to work at it.’
