Kotoko, Olympics agree on Aziz, Louis and Adams

Accra, Nov 20, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics have reached an agreement over the transfer of three key players from the Accra club to the Porcupine Warriors three seasons ago by their previous administrations. Consequently, Kotoko are to pay 150 million cedis to Olympics in respect of Aziz Ansah, Joe Louis and Fuseni Adams.

Mr Richard Oblitei Solomon, chairman of the management committee of Great Olympics said on Thursday that the two clubs reached a mutual agreement which binds Kotoko to value Aziz at 100 million, Louis at 30 million and Adams at 20 million.

Tendering a copy of the agreement which was signed by Mr Sylvester Asare-Owusu and Mr Yaw A. Buafo for Kotoko and himself and Mr Stephen Klu Adjei Nmashie for the Wonder Club, the Olympics chairman said the two clubs met on many occasions to deliberate on the issue while the case was with the arbitration panel.

By the agreement Kotoko are to spread the payment over a period of four months beginning from Thursday, November 20 to February 28, 2004. The payments are to be made in five instalments.

The three players were traded away by the Ade Coker administration without any documentation of transfer details before Olympics was taken over by the present crop of management members.

Efforts to get the last administration of Kotoko to pay for the players proved futile and Olympics had to refer the matter to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for redress.

At the last count, Kotoko claimed they bought the three players for 75 million cedis and that, they had paid 50 million leaving a balance of 25 million cedis.

The new development will once and for all end the feud that the transfer of the three players had generated between the two clubs.
