Former Kotoko striker and management member Wilberforce Mfum has blasted the current leadership of the club for parting ways with Croatian trainer Zdravko Lugarusic insisting it was a backward decision.

The Porcupine Warriors parted ways with the Croat following a draw with Ebusua Dwarfs at home which came after a series of undesirable results in the league.

“That was a bad decision. You don’t sack a coach at the middle of a season. They could have even waited for the first round to end,” Mfum said in an interview with Kwaku Ofosu Asare ON GTV Sports Plus.

He added: “Both Kotoko and Hearts suffer from such bad management practices. They sack coaches at odd time which is bad.”

Mfum who was a management member of the Porcupine Warriors under P.V. Obeng and Dr. K.K. Sarpong argued that the coach was never the problem of the club fingering the players as inferior.

“They must look at the players rather. The players are not up to the standard of Kotoko. The coach did nothing to be sacked. The players are not Kotoko standard,” he added.
