Kinapharma win Graphic Sports Games

Accra, May 9, GNA - Kinapharma Keep Fit Club defeated Accra Referees Association team 3-1 on penalties to win this year's Graphic Sports Keep Fit Clubs Games held at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra at the weekend. The Games which formed part of activities marking the 60th Anniversary celebration of Graphic Communications Group Limited, was under the theme "Promoting a Healthy lifestyle Attitude".

It was the Referees who initiated an early attack in the match but failed to utilise the chances that came their way to get the opener. The tide gradually changed in favour of Kinapharma but they also wasted the uncountable chances they created. On their way to the finals, Kinapharma edged out the Amputees team 4-3 on penalties while the Referees also defeated Kaneshie Keep Fit Club 4-3 also on penalties. Pro-Gym Keep Fit Club took the third place position by beating Happy FM 2-1.

The Games were preceded by a two-hour walk through some principal streets of the capital city and ended at the games grounds. Mr Felix Abayateye, Graphic Sports Editor who is also the Chairman of the Games Planning Committee, underscored the importance of physical education and exercises in the country and urged the participants to embrace it and make a usual affair to keep fit. He gave the assurance that the competition would be an annual affair and draw the participation of many organisations. 09 May 10
