Isaac Asiamah to join Olympic Day celebration

Mr Isaac Asimah, Minister of Youth and Sports is expected to join a host of Ministers, Members of Parliament as well as the Ghana Olympic Committee to celebrate this year’s Olympic day in Accra scheduled for June 24.

Mr. Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the member of parliament for Odododiodoo constituency and former Minister of Sports would also join the Members of Parliament including, Mr. Ofori Asiamah, Transport minister, Mrs. Tina Mensah, Deputy Health Minister, Mr. Vincent Odotei Sowah, Deputy Communications Minister, Dr. Zenator Rawlings, MP for Klottey Korle and Mr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, MP for Ablekuma South for the celebrations.

This year’s celebration, under the theme: Move, Learn and Discover, will see about 1000 participants drawn from Keep-fit Clubs, Schools, supporter groups and the general public taking part in the event.

The walk/run activity would start at 06:00 hours from the Martys of Uganda Basic School at Mamprobi to the Accra Sports Stadium.

Mr Isaac Asiamah and Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, would deliver the Olympic Day Celebration and solidarity messages.

The International Olympic Committee created the Olympic Day as an event to commemorate the establishment of the Olympics and also to educate the sport loving people and the society about Olympism.

The Olympic Day is a festive event bringing together people of all ages and background.
