International Swimming Clinic in Accra

The Ghana Swimming Association would be organizing the 2013 International Swimming Coaches Clinic for beginners in Accra from 24th – 28th June, 2013 at the Lincoln Community School, Abelemkpe, 7am to 2pm daily.

Ghana was chosen among a limited number of 15 African countries by the International Swimming Federation (FINA) to host the Coaching Clinic after successfully participating in the 2nd Edition of FINA World Aquatics Convention, held in Moscow, Russia in October 2012.

The clinic, which forms part of the 2013 FINA Development Programme aims to provide the best education and new trends of training methods in the sport to coaches and other officials so as to teach and produce successful swimmers for the country in International competitions.

The clinic would be conducted by Rick Powers, an experienced certified FINA Coaching Lecturer from the USA over a five-day period including classroom and practical sessions.

The cost of participation is GH¢80.00 Successful participants would be awarded a diploma certified by FINA President.
