I will not play in Div 3 - Manu

Newly signed Techiman City striker, Stephen Manu has hinted that he would not be joining the club to the Division Two, if they fail to win their intended appeal against the decision of the Ethics Committee of the Ghana FA.

Techiman City, who gained promotion to the domestic top-flight after winning the Zone One of the Division One League, have been demoted to Division Two following a match-fixing scandal with a fellow Division One side, Wa African United.

The owner and bankroller of the team, Charles Kwadwo Ntim has made it clear that the club would put in appeal as soon as they receive the official ruling from the FA.

But Manu, a former Asante Kotoko player, who joined the side in a one-year deal to revive his career has stated categorically that, he would not follow the team to the third-tier of Ghana football if the club fails to restore their premiership status.

He also indicated that the playing body is yet to be informed by management about the demotion of the club to Division Two.

‘’Yeah, we have heard in the media but the management of the team is yet to inform us (the players),’’ he told Kumasi-based Boss FM.

‘’We are still doing our normal training unless the team officials inform us,’’

‘’I signed for them to play in the Ghana Premier League and not the third division, so incase they are unable to win the appeal, automatically I move out of the club.’’
