HEARTS DEEPEN WOES OF OKWAHU

Nkawkaw (Ashanti Region) 12 Jan. '98 Visiting Accra Hearts of Oak settled Okwawu united down at the bottom of the league table when they beat them 2-0 in their match played at the Nkawkaw park. Hearts kicked off but it was Okwawu who had the chance to score in the first minute as center forward Kennedy Amponsah's shot hit the cross bar. Hearts had the first goal in the 22nd minute through inside left Joe Fameye who received a pass in the 18 and fired past on-rushing Okwawu's keeper Daniel Kokoti. Hearts made two changes in the second half. Justice Ampah and Ibrahim Mugu came on for right half back Tony Yeboah and right winger Kenneth Sarpong. The got the second goal in the 70th minute through centre forward Desmond Amoah from Mugu's pass. At Sekondi Gyandu park, eleven wise lost 1-0 to Cape Coast Dwarfs at the Kumasi sports stadium. gri
