Guidelines for SWAG Elections released

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA - Members of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) who intend to contest various Executive positions of the impending (SWAG) elections have asked to submit their completed nomination forms and the appropriate amount to the Librarian of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mrs Nana Yaa Awadzi.

A statement issued on Friday by Harry Mouzalas, the Electoral Commissioner said the posts to be contested for are President, Vice President, National Secretary, Assistant National Secretary, Treasurer and two Executive positions.

Mouzalas said the post of President attracts a deposit of 500,000 cedis, Vice President 300,000 cedis, while all other positions should be accompanied by 200,000 cedis. The deposits are non-refundable. He said the nomination forms are ready and should be collected at the offices of the Graphic Communications Group Limited.

Closing date for receipt of nomination forms is Monday, Nov. 20. The Elections are slated for Saturday, December 2, 2006, the statement added.
