Ghana-Turkey: Ratings by Fan

Richard Kingston (7/10) - A couple of wonderful saves in the 2nd half ... Our attacking approach in the second half gave him a little space. And when called upon, he stood tall. He is looking like our #1. But perhaps we should wait to see Sammy Adjei too in action ...

John Paintsil (7.5/10) - A wonderful player to watch on the offensive. The tactical changes helped him to step up his game and was so good on the right after Otto Addo was replaced. Very good performance

Addoquaye Pappoe (6.2/10 ) - His mistake caused the goal against Ghana. The tactical changes in the second half restricted him to the defensive area and he did quite well, but many will not forget his mistake that led to the Turkey goal.

Sammy Kuffour (7/10): Remained solid in defence. I would not ask that he takes those free-kicks ... Otherwise he had a very good performance. Our attacking approach in the second half gave him a little space

John Mensah (7/10): Solid in defence as usual. A solid partner for Kuffour. Our attacking approach in the second half gave him a little space

Michael Essien (6.8/10) - Stepped up a little in the second half and was still effective, even though I do not think he was at 100%. Good passing and midfield control, overall

Otto Addo (6/10): Enthusiastic, should release the ball quickly. He was substituted.

Michael Amoah (6.8/10): I still think he is not 100%, but he got that wonderful pass from Appiah and made use of the space he had, scoring from a not so powerful shot, but powerful enough to deflect the keeper and go in for th equalizer ...

Asamoah Gyan (6.5/10): Quite forceful but need more support. He was substituted.

Stephen Appiah (8/10): Our main man! Excellent passing/distribution, free-roving role. Very energetic, fit and focused. He stepped up in the second half as well. Of course his pass set up the equalizer ...

Eric Addo (6.5/10) Seems to have disappeared in the first half, but was an able support for Michael Essien in the second half. -

Razak Pimpong (6.6/10): This guy brought some power upfront. He was willing to take on the Turkish defenders and had them working extra. This was vital in stepping up our game. He was involved in a number of moves as well and brought some positivity to the game. Maybe he should have started. Or maybe the super sub tag needs to be placed on him. He did not play the full game, but certainly made an impact.

Sulley Muntari (6.6/10): I think he is a definite starter. He brought some more strength into our midfield. He seemed to love the right side (or maybe that's was his role), but he started from the left. Good performance from the Udinese player, but he should watch his tackles and the cards

Final Comments:

Very encouraging display from Ghana. We have a team that is capable. We should step up though. Tactically we were significantly better in the second half. I say again, there are reasons to be optimistic.
Tactically, we should work some more on our offense in the final third and identify a set piece expert or two to add to whatever we can show on the field. So far, so good. Let's see how Jamaica comes along. We should win that game, if you ask me.
