Congratulatory Messages Pour In For GHAPOHA

Tema, (Greater Accra) 20 Oct. The Senior Staff Association of Ghana Ports and Habours Authority today congratulated Ghapoha Readers football club on winning the 1997 WAFU Cup yesterday. A statement signed by Mr. Kofi Asare, Chairman of the Association said "we congratulate Ghapoha F/C for your briliant performance against Jeunnesse Sportive Tenere (JST) of Niger which has made you WAFU champions". They advised the players not to let complacency take the better part of them and called on them to strive to achieve greater laurels. In another congratulatory message, Ms Beatrice Naa Afiyeye Ashong, Member of Parliament for Kpon/ Katamanso constituency said " you played a determined game yesterday to show that you are masters of the field and deserve the WAFU cup", "You have made the Port City very proud through your excellent achievement", the MP added. The Tema Municipal Assembly in its congratulatory message to Ghapoha said "the unique and matured game you played at the Accra Sports Stadium won for you admirers from the entire country and you deserve our congratulation". GHAPOHA beat JST 2-0 in the second leg of the WAFU final match at the Accra sports stadium yesterday to lift the trophy in their first attempt.
