An opponent has been confirmed for Richard Commey's (22-0, 20 KOs) ring return on October 17 at the dm-Arena in Karlsruhe, Germany. The undefeated 28-year-old squares off against Georgia's Ramaz Bebnadze (16-2, 12 KOs) in a ten-round lightweight contest.

Commey is back in action following an impressive Las Vegas debut that saw the Ghanaian power-puncher claim the IBF Intercontinental title with an eighth-round TKO win over Bahodir Mamadjonov. Eager to build on this success, the current Commonwealth king is hard at work preparing for his next challenge.

"Winning the IBF Intercontinental title meant a lot to me and my team," said Commey. "It's really given us an idea as to where we're heading. To do it in Vegas, headlining a show in the fight capital of the world, made it even more special. No other Ghanaian boxer has done that in their first fight in the US.

"Gradually I'm getting closer to a world title shot. I believe I'm only two or three fights away. So at this stage every fight is important to me. I'll be approaching this fight like it's a world title challenge. I'm training hard and will make sure I'm in the best possible shape for October 17. I want to win and win convincingly to prove I'm ready to face the very best. I'm not looking past Bebnadze but after this fight I want to defend one of my belts and then add a World title to my collection!"

Commey's battle with Bebnadze is on the undercard of interim WBA World Champion Vincent Feigenbutz's super middleweight showdown with Giovanni De Carolis.
