Betway in position to discourage underage gambling

Betway, an internationally recognized brand in sports betting says it is committed in reducing the current trend of rise in number of minors frequenting betting outfits and being allowed to place bets.

A recent research finding has revealed that the number of minors placing bets in the country was constantly increasing and individuals and organizational bodies are worried and have expressed concerns.

According to the research, underage gambling was becoming prevalent as long as gambling has been freely available due to the growth in new betting companies thus the need to put stringent measures in place to resolve the problem.

Recently launched in Ghana, Betway one of the leading mobile and web-based betting platforms in the country says it is dedicated to discouraging underage gambling and thus has put policies in place to stop minors from placing bets.

The betting brand has put the following measures in place to ensure it does not go contrary to the laws of the country but to curb underage betting:

Firstly, a new customer needs to meet the age requirements, which are clearly defined upon registration. Thereafter, a minor would not be able to engage in any of the monetary services or functions that form part of the Betway online platform because they wouldn’t be eligible for a mobile money account in the first place.

Also anyone who is underage is restricted from opening up, depositing money into or withdrawing money from an account and so shall not be allowed to bet with Betway.
