Baffour looks forward to a great time at Sundowns

The Ghana Premier League’s Goal King of the 2011 – 2012 season, New Edubisase and Black Star striker, 23-year-old Emmanuel Baffour, has signed a contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, the club has confirmed.

“I'm very excited to be part of such a great team of Mamelodi Sundowns calibre and I look forward to doing battle for them on the field,” Baffour said. “ I know the team has very talented players and I know a few of them from the national team. I look forward to a great time here at Chloorkop.”

Baffour, who was just pipped to the additional title of the Most Valuable Player in the Ghana league by Asante Kotoko’s Daniel Nii Adjei, fell just one goal short of the goals scored record of 22 goals in a season with his 21 net-busters.

Baffour was the favourite for the MVP but for his club’s fifth position on the log behind champions Asante Kotoko.

Last year he was called up for the provisional national squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, but did not make the final cut. In February he earned his first cap when the Black Stars played against Chile.
