Audit Service marks anniversary with Fun Games

Accra, April 24, GNA - Aduamoah-Addo Team defeated their Dodoo counterparts 1-0 in the soccer finals of the Audit Service Fun Games played at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Saturday. The event formed part of activities marking the centenary celebrations of the Service.

It is under the theme "A century of Public Sector Auditing defining new frontiers".

The match, which started on a fast note saw both teams making serious incursions into each others vital area but none could find the net till the end of the first half.

The teams started the second session strongly but it was the Aduamoah-Addo team who were slightly on top as they managed to score the only goal of the match through Iddrisu Mohammed a minute to full time. On their way to the finals, the champions edged out Klinogo Team 1-0 while the Dodoo team also beat the Lamptey team 1-0.

Ben Mpereh came first in the Musical Chairs event with Joseph Adongo taking the second position while Kelvin Assiene placed third.

In the Draught encounter, Alex Koomson emerged champion while Alex Kyeremeh placed second with the third position going to Patrick Nartey. Mr Richard Asiedu, Acting Deputy Auditor-General praised the participants for exhibiting good sportsmanship throughout the Games and urged them to keep it up and make it reflect in their work schedules. He called on government to resource the Service to enable it deliver quality auditing in the country.

Mr Asiedu said the Service was currently engaged in forensic, IT and procurement auditing and advised the public to take audit reporting very serious to ensure sanity. 24 April 10
