Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams has been voted the 2015 Ghana Premier League Player of the Year by sports fans in a recent poll conducted by Global Media Alliance, owners of Happy FM in Accra.
Ahmed, 24, beat competition from Sarbahn Laryeah of Accra Hearts of Oak and Eric Opoku of champions AshantiGold.
This comes as the second time in a year that the versatile defender is winning an award after winning the maiden edition of the player of the month for Asante Kotoko in the month of July.
The poll which mainly fan based saw sports fans all over the country voting for their best player of the season which the Kotoko center back scoop with ease.
Adams, who joined the Porcupine Warriors after six matches in the first round, played 23 matches, scoring one goal in the process.
His impressive show earned him a call up to the Local Black Stars as well as the national U23, the Black Meteors.
His closest competitor, Eric Opoku won the league with AshantiGold and was adjudged the Best Player of the League by the Premier League Board but the fans saw Ahmed’s performance ahead of the Aboakese lad.
