Ainooson reveals he signed one-year contract extension at Kotoko

Ghana defender Abeiku Ainooson has revealed to DailySoccerGhana.com that he decided to sign a contract extension with Asante Kotoko because he wants to mature fully before joining a foreign league club.

The Local Black Stars centre-back on Thursday extended his stay with the Porcupine Warriors by one more year in a deal, which will keep him at the Kumasi-based club until September 2016.

“I extended my deal because I want to mature more. It’s the mentality of most Ghanaians that when you come in the first season and you do well, then you have to leave and go abroad,” Ainooson told DailySoccerGhana.com.

“My stay at Kotoko will improve my chances of landing a foreign contract. But, I have learnt a lesson from people who go and are frustrated. When the time comes, I will go and not return to the Ghana league,” he added.

Abeiku Ainooson joined Asante Kotoko from New Edubiase in 2012 after helping the Bekwai based club to win the MTN FA Cup.
