Growing up in Ghana our illustrious president, Kwame Nkrumah made us march in protest against "The Sharpville Massacre" in South Africa. Ghana sponsored South African freedom fighters in Ghana in their struggles against apartheid.
As a college student in the United States, I marched in front of South African embassy in Washington, DC in protest against apartheid. To think that the very people I spent time and effort to help liberate in South Africa will behave like enemies against my kith and kin shows extreme ungratefulness or insanity from apartheid. I am disappointed.

Dr. K A Busia acted on a law passed in our parliament. This is not the same issue in South Africa. South African government has every right to kick out illegal immigrants, but citizen of that country have NO right to kill citizens from various African countries with the excuse that the latter are "stealing" their jobs.

This violence perpetrated by some South African nationals is simply lawlessness and human rights abuse which is not acceptable in any civilized society.

Yes the white minority did cause real problems but can we really put all the problems at their door? Well yes we can to a large extent but they are not now in power. I think it is because black people just don't like themselves at the moment. We have to show patience because you cannot come out of the apartheid system without experiencing some negative fallout. The people are suffering mentally.
Note too the complete failure of their government to implement policies which would improve the lot of the majority. Things have gotten worse since the Death of Mr Mandela.
Corruption, corruption and more corruption is the problem and this is to a large extent carried out by black people to the detriment of the majority. The government have failed to deliver housing, schools, jobs and investment in the police and other social structures. The leadership of the ANC are a complete disgrace! The question really is, when are they going to be held to account for all the things that are being perpetrated on the people? When is South Africa going to get the Government it deserves?

Setting the facts straight: Busia DID NOT kick foreigners out of Ghana.

Busia asked them to comply with the ACO - renew their resident permits or leave. I can tell you that more than half of foreigners then in Ghana complied and remained. Others did not understand / comply and left. I met some who left in Nigeria, who spoke better Twi than myself.

After the ACO, I met some Nigerians I knew at sec school at Legon and today I can tell you of 20 Nigerians who were in Ghana before the ACO and who are still living there.

Apartheid brutalised the society and left a legacy of violence. It also left a culture of self-hate among the black community. This explains why black South Africans will attack an African immigrant but not a white immigrant even if both were in similar circumstances. The black South African has been conditioned to believe that the white race is superior. So they will burn a Mozambican alive but will never think of doing the same to a white immigrant. Indeed the ordinary black South African looks down on the rest of Africa. Some don't even consider South Africa to be an African country. It's sad that people with such a tragic history who were supported by the rest of Africa in their time of slavery have turned out to be so hostile to other Africans.

I work in the medical industry of South Africa.
I work closely with my African brothers from all over the continent, no issues there.

It will be difficult for the South Africans to use same methods as most of their leaders were helped and educated by these countries whose nationals have come to take the local jobs
More will come and there is nothing the SA govt can do more especially when ANC is in power

SOUTH AFRICANS in Ghana will receive their share in Ghana very soon....ANGLO GOLD ASHANTI(AGA) is owned by south Africans.let's look at how the company is treating the good people of OBUASI ADANSI ....They extract the gold ore and mix it with chemicals such that even when a local gold miner gets it he can't refined the ore... So that they export it to South Africa.The company now do not do their refinery here in Ghana but carry all the gold ore mixed in a complex chemical compound to their country denieing our local access to their land....Now the same people are killing fellow Africans for no nonsense reasons. Look at the redundancy the company carried out 2014...denied multitudes of Ghanaians jobs ..... We will pay them back because our own government seem not concerned about what is happening to Ghana residents in South Africa......we will use AGA to set example that they also have residents in Ghana
