They introduced the Free Maternal Healthcare, National Health Insurance Scheme, National Youth Employment Programme, School Feeding, Metro Mass Transit, Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty. They paid the teacher training allowances and the nurse training allowances, all from the GHC 20 billion. Within the eight years of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), they have had GHS248 billion but have collapsed the NHIS, the National Youth Employment programme, School Feeding Programme, Metro Mass Transit, nurse training and teacher training allowances. You have no moral standing to preach on morality or judicial ethics when you clearly violated the rules regarding conflict on interest by presiding over a case against a defendant who your nephew worked for and furthermore maintained ex parte contacts with said nephew during the course of the proceedings. You are an embarrassment to the bench and the legal profession.

No country develops on the basis of services provided. Unfortunately in Ghana, the service industry contribytes more to GDP than manufacturing, agric etc. And when a VC says this, look at the spin that has been put on it.
Our problems as a country are structural. If subsequent governments had continued the path of industrialisation as started by Kwame Nkrumah, we certainly wont be in this state. And it would be difficult now for a lot of reasons.
Gor all those idiots who continuelaming John Mahama, it's a good exercise. My only point to your situation won't change if all you do is to see politics in everything.
Meanwhile, lets ask ourselves a simple question: what good will come from a country in which over 30% of tertiary students are studying marketing?

I would advice the vice chancellor to steer clear of politically inflammatory remarks expecially a few weeks leading to presudential and parliamentary elections. Any statements that has the potential of influencing a voter's decision in the coming elections is CAMPAIGNING. clearly, the vice chancellor's comments are suggestive of a country being mismanaged; that is clearly a negative criticism of the NDC led government. It has the potential of affecting the fortunes of the NDC in the polls. University of Ghana is a state institution. When we say the economy is in reverse, it is a sum total of the impact of all state institutions on the economy of which the university Is a part.
Steer away from politics, VC. after all, it is your personal opinion. There many ways by which you can be gotten rid of.
