Is the Acting Omanhene saying that the Prof being from the root lineage of Tena-Bretuo in Mampong disqualifies him? Some of us interested in AKAN traditional structures think that the candidate is acceptable if his matrilineal DNA is from the House of Mampong Agyei who founded Kwahu. YES or NO? As to the actual acceptance, it's up to the Kingmakers and the consensus they build.

Mampong Agyei led the tena-bretuo to enter kwawu but was not the founder of the kwawu state. Point of correction.

The Kotokus used to live on the lands of present day Kwahu. Pankese is kotoku but is located at the door step of Nkawkaw.

From the geography of the territory, no way Kwahus could have scaled the mountain terrain from Nkawkaw. The historically documented and physically plausible option is the arrival at the summit area from Mampong, Ashanti. Our Grandparents told us about Nsuta, Effiduase and the Kumasi, Juaben areas. The bulk of the migration is from Mampong, no doubt. Till this day, folks attend reciprocal funerals. Another fact that lends credibility is the title of the Chief of Akyem Kotoku....the Oda area. OKOFROBOUR Ameyaw Atefah and Frimpong Manso salutations clearly explain the Kotoku attempts to dislodge the Kwahus. The Akyems down the mountain laid claims to the adjoining terrain taken by the newcomer Kwahus from Ashanti. But the Obourma were able to seize a considerable portion from New Jejeti, Englesi, Amanfrom up to Akwasihu, Pra River, Danteng and further on the Konongo road towards Kumasi. So, it is true that the Akyem Kotoku (Oda) people were already settled. BUT the Kwahu came from the top down, not the opposite. There is a saying that "Akyems cannot do more for Kwahu; they have them land and wives to marry."

Nana Abetifihene to me you have said nothing important why not allow Akosa to be arrested since he is not an indigene of Kwahu.

I do respect Dr Akosa a lot however he has dragged himself into this sort of dirty chieftaincy politics. Why he accepted to go for this given all this hullaballoo beats the mind.

ABETIFI has always sought to hold the Paramount Stool of Kwahu as it's trump card. Because the political capital Abene is a small village almost, access, supplies etc come from Abetifi. If Abetifihene could let tradition take its course, there would be no problems. If Abene has proposed Mampong Agyei's lineage from Ashanti, let the Kingmakers decide. It all looks like the allegations against the Acting Omanhene are true: that he has collected his goats and chickens from other candidates, Bugri Naabu style!!!!
A concert in deed.
