If today our population is about five times fold in Nkrumah's time and teachers seek greater pastures elsewhere, you consider additional two colleges of education a waste of resources? What do you know?

Ghanaians are waiting to see the 200SHS's promised with 50SHS's every year from 2012 to 2016 and the 10 new teacher training colleges as promised.
The Mahama NDC gov't would go and point them out one by one, community by community, district by district, region by region the exact location of every single one of the 200SHS's and the 10 new teacher training colleges in this country before they are voted out in 2016.
They will show us those completed 200SHS's and the completed 10 new teacher training colleges as promised by 2016 yaagani, yaagani.

Mr. nsowah u and your anti-dev't npp stalwarts cannot move dis country backward.how do u think as an educationist.it a normal character of npp.they are opposed to everything good for de nation.the population is increasing steadily, more basic schools are springing up, more students are completing shs yearly.wid the scrapping of teacher trainees allowances, more students are being admitted yearly.should de govt wait till de existing schools are chocked before we begin to dig foundation for additional colleges?, so dat our students would sleep in the open like kuffour did to our siblings in secondary schools wen he introduced the unplanned 4 year shs system? But for de intervention of ndc, atta mills and mahama our siblings now have descent class rooms and dormetaries
Please reason like de biblical proverbial ant but not the grasshopper.be proactive.

The former educationist is not looking at the picture wholistically and dwelling on the past. Fact is that with the expansion in schools being embarked upon, coupled with the current deficit of teachers in classrooms I have noticed a three tier approach by government to ensure adequate teachers to match the demand. 1) rationalization of teachers across the country. Thus redistribution of teachers so that areas with excess teachers such as cities will have teacher reassigned to where there is shortage 2) Romoving the bottlenecks that made the existing colleges under utilized. That's is removing allowance and replacing with students loan just as the case is in all tertiary institutions. This has already resulted in the doubling of intakes into the colleges 3) Building additional colleges to meet the excess demand. This the government has said will commence after exhausting the capacities of the existing colleges. In my opinion this is the way to go
