This is very clear for this nonsense. Is 13 years a legal age? Totally irrelevant to the crime.

Poor child. Is there no compassion in Ghana? Is there no justice? Evil people are set free! I am saddened.

This case has to be appealed by the state. Just too ridiculous! Justice must be served! 12 years or 13 years; this kid is still a minor and the age discrepancy should have not have led to freeing of this silly culprit.

the appeal should be to the Director of Public Prosecutions at the Attorney General's Departmrnt to cause an appeal to be filed in the High Court against the verdict. The Circuit Court judge may just have made an error which can be corrected on appeal without a further error on the part of the Chief Justice with adminisrative action in a judicial action.

When O when will Ghana value the lives of young girls and women in general. This case is an outright injustice and all lawyers in ghana need to be educated that a girl should not come from a wealthy family before she is protected by the law and those who harm/rape girls should be punished severely. Just recently, 7 men were sentenced to death in Afghanistan for raping women who were not even minors and here we are in Ghana, another third world country were rapists are rewarded. Rape has increased dramatically in Ghana and our judicial system is failing to let the law work. I pray Ghana is not put on the radar by the western countries because defilement of minors in Ghana is the order of the day.I hope this case is reviewed by the chief justice of the Ghana supreme court and the perpetrator is punished severely.
The so called minister for children affairs and the members of parliament had better pass a law ASAP that a rapist in Ghana should be sent to prison for 50 years to life, enough of the nonsense.

While the judge in this case is an idiot and unfit to render judgment at a goat competition he did us a favor by exposing those in the NPP who continue to beat the drums on a credible voter ID scheme. If in this day and age there are Ghanaians under the age of 20 years who cannot provide valid DOB document then how could they prove their Ghanaian citizenship and or age of maturity or consent? Could we have a democratic elected parliament or president if voting is by only a select few?

What the fuck was this judge thinking when he made such an abominable decision. May god forgive him for setting such a pedophile free. I hope he dreams about this for the rest of his life.

THE CHILD VICTIM NEEDS JUSTICE. THE VERDICT IS PERVERSE, MANIFESTLY UNJUST AND REEKS OF CORRUPTION. THE STATE SHOULD APPEAL.
