I wish my king Otumfuo Osei Tutu a longer life, but personally, I think the Chieftaincy institution has outlived it's usefulness and so must be scrapped. In this modern era, most Ghanaians continue to think of tribes instead of the collective interest of Ghana. There is so much tension and violence in our communities because of chieftaincy disputes, when our chiefs sell lands and receive royalties without rendering accounts to anyone.
It is about time Ghanaians wake up to the realization that our chieftaincy practice is outmoded and must be scrapped from our Constitution. If we do that, then perhaps come 30 years we will all think about what is best for Ghana instead of who will serve our tribal interest.
Long live Ghana.

The plight of Ghanaians seems to be permanent with the kind of leaders we have including those heading the Christian Council. I don't have a problem with the Asantehene celebrating his 15th year on his throne if he has some achievements to showcase to his people and the world. The problem I have is with some of our christian leaders behaving like hypocrites when they know that the Asantehene continues to cheat his people. Apart from selling at outrageous prices the Kumasi lands and pocketing the money for his personal use, can these leaders tell us what the Asantehene has done for his community?
They are talking about the Asantehene promoting education and peace in the country.
EDUCATION: Why don't they tell us what the Asantehene has done to improve the terrible performance of the children in his kingdom. We need empirical proof or data. We are talking about a King who sit on gold mines. If he wasn't that selfish and greedy, he would have been innovative enough to create fountains of education centers without sweat in his kingdom.
PEACE; How can he promote peace in the midst of scorching poverty? What has he done - using the powerful and influential nature of his office - to alleviate poverty in Ghana and Ashanti Region in particular.
We are getting tired of the hypocrisy of some of our religious leaders and bodies. They should cut us a slack with their hypocrisy.
