Three men wanted to join a demolition company, so they all sent there CV’s to the MD and asked if they could have a job. The MD said "prove you can blow up a building and tell me how many letters there are in the alphabet, then you can have a job."
So the first man went and blew up a building and said "Sir there are 26 letters in the alphabet." And so the MD gave him a job.
The second man went and blew up a building and said "Sir there are 26 letters in the alphabet." And so he joined the company too.
The third man went and blew up a building and said "Sir there are 24 letters in the alphabet."
The MD said "Why is that?" And the man said "Because I just blew up B&Q."

The manner buildings are demolished in the tenure of NDC Government is callous and disgraceful. Why TDC did not negotiate with the owners before demolishing? This destructive exercise was undertaken at KLAGON where three buildings put up by my family and about two hundred others were demolished by NUNGUA people and nobody said anything about it.I was 79 old then, but I cried. I am now in my hometown but in my morning and evening prayers everyday, I ask The ALMIGHTY GOD to punish all those connected with that job.May they NEVER see their grand children.

I don't think TDC is so stupid to demolish buildings on lands not their own. We have been encouraging encroachment for a long time which has led to the establishment of slums and shaty towns on stolen lands. Ask yourself, will members of this pressure group allow someone to even place a kiosk on their property left alone building on their property? If we don't enforce the law, we say that we have weak institutions, when the law is applied then we say that it is politically motivated. We want to be law abiding citizens overseas but law breakers in Ghana. How can we live in lawlessness? what is the need for a democratic constitution and rule of law if any body can encroach your land, wife, children, life and any opening space? People have built on water ways and sewage blocking the flow of water and when it rains, we all know what happens then we cry to to NADMO and sympathizers for help.

It saddens me to see the demolition of peoples dreamed houses which were built with thier hard earned monies, including acquisition, preparation of the land, materials and labour cost. Some of those affected may never be able to recover. However,as pity as the situation may be, we don't have to solely put all the blame on the government . As a people we seem to entrench indiscipline and fail to speak to the issues, but usually turn round to point accusing fingers at people or institutions we deem culpable. This Adjei Kojo issue emanated from sheer greed on the part of the chief who superintend over the area. This land had been long and legally acquired by the TDC and had been allocated to people like those now affected by the demolition exercise. But, we fail to acknowledge that the chief for the area who had no right to the land started to encroach by selling most of the plots to unsuspecting buyers and using land guards to deprive persons who had had their allocation from TDC, the legitimate and rightful owners (by virtue of prior acquisition from this very landlord, who had turned himself, out of greed,to resell). This made TDC to relocate all persons who had allocation from them in the Adjei Kojo area. I had by then constructed my house to the lintil level. My property was pulled down on the orders of the chief without any compensation whatsoever to me. The TDC which had spent so much monies to grade roads as well as extending infracture amenities to the area, for sanity purposes, resorted to the law courts to seek redress by having the courts place an injunction on the lands, until the determination of the case. The chief who after sometime took the silence of the case to mean, he had the upper hand chose to disregard the court orders and went on to sell and to have the area developed, with the security of land guards in watch.
For me as painful as the situation is, the people who purchased plots in the area should have done due diligence by conducting search at the appropriate institution on the land to know who really were the rightful owners.
We should learn to desist from rushing to pay monies to fraudulent persons who are quick to claim as their own properties that perhaps used to be that of their families but have been sold by their predecessors. Who then is to be blamed? Those affected are also to be blamed because they refused to adhere to warnings from the TDC to desist from putting up buildings on the lands, but because they felt they were under the express protection of land guards, they impetuously continued to build. How do we expect the TDC to mitigate it loses, if they fail to react. The greedy chief must be held liable and made to refund and pay all cost incurred by victims concerning their demolished properties and let us stop blaming the TDC for acting right, though sadistic as it is.
Absolute nonsense. The land belongs to TDC, you encroach or trespass on the land and you want the government to protect you? It is such lawlessness that is destroying our country and preventing us from developing.
