At least Akan Chiefs show some level of self control and do not allow any foolish politicians to dictate to them. But what do we see from our own chiefs from the Volta region? Politicians take advantage of the ignorance of he chiefs and use them to tell ewes to vote for them only to be dumped after elections. Is this not stupidity? I always fight my family for the way they see politics. They vote for a party because they have been brain washed that that party belongs to them. I attended University of Ghana and I was shocked at the number of students from Volta who were hardcore NPP supporters to the extent that they even use their own pocket money to attend NPP programs. I think it is so because he university is a big constituency where one meets different shades of people and as a result one's way of thinking is influenced intellectually. What I have observed is that some well educated ewes are with the NPP so why are those uneducated majority in the volta region stick to the NDC and yet get nothing from that? Well, one chief who seems to be causing some change is Togbe Afede. He has brought a new life into chieftaincy in Volta and let's see if it will work. Volta chiefs please stop parading our families to tow the NDC line it makes convincing our families to change their minds and face reality very difficult.

Too late, our chiefs. See what Joe Gidisu did when he was Min of Roads. Ho-Aflao, Ho-Hohoe for instance are big shame to Joe Gidisu, son of the Region. All they think about is Volta Region is their World Bank, yet they have neglected the Region for the past 20 years that the Region has voted for them. Dont the chiefs see the BIG lie the NDC is? The whole Region's Capital roads are like a remote village. Commuters and motorists Ho have to live with horrible roads daily compared with the roads in Koforidua, Kumasi, Sunyani, Tamale, Bolga and even Wa, who are not the NDC's World bank. Poverty is everywhere as the NDC MPs, DCEs and MCEs amass wealth when the World Bank votes for them. Are our chiefs BLIND?? What kind of blind loyalty is that. Some of them are as guilt as the politicians as they are satisfied with the drinks and cash they are given during election time. Time for a change. The Deputy Reg Minister is only being hypocritical.

Chiefs you are right, but can you change the endemic situation? See the behaviour of the politicians when they are voted for. They quickly don long-flowing sheik apparels, wear expensive Spanish hats and refuse to see any person who will not talk about 20% percentage kickback for a pending contract. These are extremely greedy politicians who have deceived the populace in the Volta Region for the past 20 years. Check all the Volta MPS from 1992 to date: The Kofi Attors, Mfodwos, Akorlis, etc, etc. None was instrumental in bringing meaningful development to the Region. Instead they have built expensive mansions for themselves esp in Accra and live there. Their counterparts from Ashanti, Brong, Northern, Greater Accra, Easter, etc always fight for good projects to be located in their region. The non-Volta MPs and Ministers in government will always extend helping hand to heir people to get jobs, etc. The Volta MP and Minister will always look inwards and cater for only himself, not even his immediate family, let alone extended family. They are almost like pigs, greedy, to say the least. Oh, when will our chiefs show these ungrateful sons of the Region where true power lies???? Let the chiefs put on their cloths and sandals and storm the offices of such Ministers like their counterpart chiefs from Ashanti do to get the projects for the Region. Enough is enough!!!

I suggest the chiefs invite the political office holders to Ho and engage them about the way forward for the region. We seriously lack. Our region weeps for roads, schools, markets, industries, scholarships for higher studies, jobs etc

Though I am a bit happy they see me as a well bred guy from the ewe land, my own observation of the voting trend in Volta is a mistake for the development of the region. Please, at least the educated ones should help change the way our people think because the way it is now is very dangerous. Let us face the fact and not pretend as if it does not exist

The problem no one seems to be addressing is the lack of understanding and cordination within Volterians. The northern Volta with its cream of entreprenuership, resources and rich Akan culture is always excluded from the affairs of the Region. The Buems understands other Guans/Akans and others in the northand hence coperation.Except some irrelevant chieftancy issues with some northern settlers.Volterians have nothing in hand to achieve,if Ewes wont make the presence of the guans, akans and others be heard. The northern Volterians chiefs are much adhored ,admired ,respected in national circles. We need to understand ourselves first before going political.Ewes must learn to allow the opportunities and chances for the north materialised.Except these and others are addressed the region cordination and understanding. This retards the development of this Rainbow Region of Ghana
