There's always the potential for reprisals if the identities of the complainants are unmasked, and that can only discourage others from blowing the whistle on corrupt or illegal activities within an agency or institution. The main key here is to not rush to judgment against the person who is the subject of the complaint till the matters complained about have been looked into.

“I remember during the first year of Vcship, I teased you in a conversation that your fear of COVID-19 had made you a local VC and you explained that there was a lot for you to learn and understand about the new office you held and that you wanted to get a proper hang of things locally before honouring any international invitation. Truly, you didn't travel outside Ghana the whole of 2020 and 2021. Even for a significant part of 2022, you still remained local. Your saboteurs will not tell this story because they want to paint a horrific image of you in the eyes of the good people of our University and beyond.
As an academic, he has forgotten there was a travel restrictions and ban, thus, the reason he couldn’t travel. Did he need a brain to understand this

An appropriate investigation into the issues raised will afford all parties the opportunity to provide evidence and the needed explanations to put things into a proper perspective. Corruption is not written on anyone but the actions we undertake when offered such positions of trust are used to determine the real motive of being corrupt or not.
For now, some of the things are factual and cannot be denied. For instance, he has travelled severally and the tenure has been extended by two more years although he will be almost 61 years by the time of exit if allowed to continue. These factual issues must be dispassionately looked into in terms of our laws. For me, the extension is the problem because even GTEC regulations on post-retirement contract don't allow retirees to hold on to administrative offices.
Potentially, everyone is corruptible especially when given the opportunity like the case of the VC of UCC.
Facts cannot be changed but until proven guilty, innocence is assumed.

However, this also calls for universities to look at putting in place appropriate checks and balances to avert such perceived abuses in the near future.
