Way to go is to encourage the use of GA language in our everyday conversation in the homes of Ga speaking parents, then it can spread to other areas.we have allowed the mantra of a 'villager' to eat into our cultural fabric to the extent that, in Accra for instance , immediately you speak a local language, you are tagged or looked at with some eyes or posture, this attitude has fested for a long time and this is what is slowly killing some native languages.Rather in other localities outside Accra, parents together with their children speak proudly in their native languages without any stigmatisation whatsoever. The earlier the better.

No language is better than the other, although i am not of the Ga Adangbe extract i am in support of your suggestion. I was brought to Accra when i was young, i had my education in Accra so i always owe my allegance to the Ga Adangbe. i no longer live in Greater Accra but am always HAPPY when i have the opoortunity to communicate in the language. I also add my appeal that ALL GA LANGUAGE TEACHERS TRANSFERED OUT THE REGION SHOULD BE POSTED BACK.

I remember all schools in Accra's curriculum included the teaching of the Ga language in the 50s and 60s when i was growing up in this great city. Teachers who wanted to work in Accra had to attend Adult Education centres to learn Ga language.
My mum, a Ga Dangme teacher taught during the late 50s and early 60s in Cape coast on transfer from Accra. She had to learn the Akan language so she could teach Fante pupils. She then got transfer back onto her Ga turf and continued teaching Ga language till she retired.
Please let the Education Service reintroduce Ga language back into the curriculum for all schools in Accra.
I went to boarding school in a twi speaking area and I learnt the language because that was the only vernacular language taught and rightly so. Let us embrace each other's language. We do well as Ghanaians eating each other's home food. Some of the Ga dangme dishes that are so eaten world wide and beyond our turf: Ga komi, shito blak and green, kelewele, kaakloo, mendaan, tsofi, abolo, adunle, only a few to name. So let us extend this good practice to the learning and speaking of the Ga language.

Then tell GAS and Krobos to stop playing Akan songs during their birthdays celebrations, funerals and weddings. Tell them to play Ga and Krobos songs instead. The songs they play is about 90% Akan songs so why blame non Gas in Accra to speak Ga. Ashantis are using music, songs , culture, acting and film and almost everything to promote their language and nobody can blame there. Ask the Gas and Krobos who sell in Accra markets and stores and in the streets if they will sell anything if they spoke in Ga or Krobo or any other language apart from Twi language. Will someone tell Mr. Sam George the MP.
