The US college admission test, the SAT, has gone digital. The standardized test helps universities better assess the academic preparedness of their applicant pool by measuring critical reading, writing, and mathematics skills to provide a comparison point among all applicants.

The shift to an online test-taking format for the SAT occurred in March 2023 for international test-takers and March 2024 for US students. The standardized exam remains an integral part of the application process for millions across the globe due to its rigorous standards and convenience.

This is even more so now with a computerized exam. According to the American College Board, which administers the test, 1.9 million students worldwide took the SAT in 2023. Over the years, Ghanaian high school students have managed to stand out among their global counterparts in the SATs. 2023 was no exception.

Among the Ghanaian success stories from last year are 27 students who received Digital SAT prep from AFEX HUB in East Legon. They ranked in the top 5% worldwide, boasting scores from 1480 to 1580 out of a total score of 1600.

But this is not a singular feat for AFEX HUB. In the August 2022 SAT, the Hub had 74% of its test-takers from Ghanaian private schools ranking in the top 1% worldwide.

One student who scored 1540 remarked that AFEX HUB was very effective in providing test-taking strategies to ace the SAT. “I don't know if I would have been able to tackle the exam and surpass my limits without these,” he added.

More people than ever are signing up for the SATs with the advent of digital test-taking. This situation makes it increasingly important for students to take advantage of all available resources to stand out globally. For students looking to put their best foot forward in the race for academic success, AFEX HUB may be a likely home.
