Afoko has done miserably work since he was appointed as a Chairman of NPP and his aim is to work against NPP and Nana Addo Dankwa to lose 2016 elections.. There is no doubt about this except that you have broken ears. Whether you guys like it or not Afoko is not needed in NPP at the moment. Please, give us break. I am very alarmed that a party, which boast of learned legal heads would ignorantly and with naivety take suicidal action to suspend the Chairman and the General Secretary of the party just to suit a small group of useless and irresponsible bigots!!. Instead of appealing and laying a good attrsctive and practical alternative policies for Ghana, Nana and these little minds are only bent on Nana to becoming the president campaign. Nana doesn't care about the representation of the average Ghanaian so he doesn't care about the need for highlighting the importance of NPP MPs at all local levels. He is selfishly interested in his egotistical aim to becoming a president. I kind of think that, when a group of people associate together for a common cause, they bind themselves with a document that spell out the principles for which they join together. The processes by which they would achieve their stated goals; and the values the binds them together. Some of the processes and principles involve putting people in charge of certain functions and activities to achieve or to bring the values of the group.
In the political system such as the NPP find itself, I'm sure they have their values, and principles and the process by which they get to them. The goal for the party overall is to elect a President. A process which starts by having or electing people into certain positions, such that when the Presidential Candidate is chosen, the focus then will be on him/her, and all others personal convictions and preferences must take back stage.
So as things stand now, the only person that matters on the national level, must be, and should be the Presidential Candidate. All others are to play supporting roles.
So I submit that at this time, the egos of all party members, weather elected and whatever position they hold subject to promoting aggressively the visibility and positive values of the one to be elected.
Since the National Executive Committee is the main power broker, which is subject to the dictates of the National Council of Elders, there can be no second guessing of decisions they come out with. I believe they are experience people, and do not take decisions lightly.
So at this point it's not about Afoko, because he is not the one going to be elected, or voted for. Since all elections are won at the pooling stations, isn't it expedient for the important actors to be the ones at the pooling stations? For any national chairman and general secretary that knows what they're doing and really care about the principles and values of the organization, and wants to follow and abide by the processes, they don't meddle in trivialities, and blow their horn at the least media opportunity.
So for all angered by the National Council of Elders decision, please note that, it's not about Afoko. Therefore if for any reason the national council of elders feel and comes to the conclusion that a person's presence and participation may be a negative, they have every right to step in and demand sanctions. At least for now they are not saying they're dismissed from the party. All it means is that they should take a back seat for now and let the process move forward.
By the way in any civilized society, certain occurrence makes it mandatory for one to step aside when he or she becomes complicated in some issues that has great bearing on hype office he/ she hold.
So for now let's give the NationalCouncil credit that they mean well, and support them to direct affairs. IT IS NOT ABOUT AFOKO, ITS ABOUT AKOFO ADDO. Pure and simple.
