The NDC is vehemently opposed to fixing the current voters register that's fraught with several irregularities. Have we become so corrupted that doing the right thing has become such an anathema? The practice of inserting ghost names in pay vouchers has become such a huge success for some people that it has been surreptitiously introduced into the voters register for the perpetrators to gain undue advantage over their rivals. If the NDC has nothing to lose in a voters register that is cleaned of all ghost names and other irregularities why do they act like the sky is falling down at the mere mention of cleaning the bloated register,an idea that has the support of all the political parties except the NDC. They detest a levelling of the playing field so that should tell Ghanaians the NDC has not been winning elections fairly.
There's no reason why we should allow one political party to dictate everything in Ghana politics. That's a sure recipe for disaster. Their fierce opposition to the suggestion to clean the register of ghost names speaks volumes about how deep the party hierarchy is steeped in corruption and other social vices. Let the enemies of progress understand that we have no choice but fix what's broken because a stitch in time saves nine.
