Nkrumah's Africanist ideas are indicative of his unselfish personality.Oh Yes, he was a human being so he might have had his faults but tell me: How much was Nkrumah found to have embezzled personally despite all the CIA Propaganda and personal demonization by his detractors who wanted to come to power by all means possible? You compare Nkrumah's town/village/'personal properties' to what our contemporary 'conscientious, democratic, liberal, western-oriented...' politicians and see the difference! You must not forget why they were jailed. They plotted to kill him on numerous occasions. Also What is so wrong about one party government(with checks and balances)?. China has it and now even the US borrows money from China? Don't forget also Education for all. Under the UP only the privileged would have had education. Two-thirds of the revenue collected in Ghana goes towards payment of MP's salary. Why? And oh the British also devalued Ghana's money. Check that out. i was a toddler in the fifties and I know my parents were neither for or against but now I am grown up and can do my own research. Do yours and stop recycling old UP talking points. I ask you to show me a any visionary after after Osagyefo KN. Long live our Great leader. KN never dies!

Nkruma was a great man and a visionary, but the fact is this was in 1957,the World was in diffirent times.
Our problem in Ghana is, we have a problem with change. So we have been left behind as a Nation.Ghana is not even static,we are rather retrogressing, because we don`t want to change.
But we can`t continue doing things the same way like in 1957.
If i hear people saying we should follow the visions of Nkruma today, after 57 years,it means the following generation after Nkruma have been a total failure.
Where is our own vision as people?
Why should we always do things the old ways?
The World is moving forward without us, is it not an indictment on our generation, that we are crying for the ideas of Nkruma?
Creativity and innovation will help us move forward than visions from 1957.

Do you know how difficult is was at the time? He fought among others for independence to revitalize a new economy. He could have do the same with per capita income low or high. Stop that assumption of 2 million. Give trllions of euros to NDC and see if they can even build on it. They will call china, etc and forget their own nation. I am not a Ghanaian but African and the most ungrateful people on earth are Ghanaians. When we were colonialized and your gold, timber, bauxite and other resources were taken to Britain and we were being used treated as sub human. Who put his life on the line to save your country? When the British left Ghana how much money did they leave behind for Ghana? Among all the presidents who have ruled Ghana where did Nkrumah got the money to build Tema Harbour? where did he got the money to build Tema Motor way, where did he got the money to build all the secondary schools your mothers and fathers attended"?. where did he got the money to build Akosombo dam that after 50 years you are still using it? where did he got the money to build Takoradi Harbour? that today you bring your cars to Ghana to sell? where did he got the money to build flag staff House and Cape Coast University and others? When a Ghanaian is brain washed by Americans to throw bombs and killed him because American told the ashanties he was a dictator? How can one become a dictator when he stood up against all kinds of white supremacy rule over Africans? When Ghana had a referendum in the 1960's to choose one party system or multiparty system I hope your were there or your fathers and mothers were there and voted on that day? Don't let Busia-Dankwa imperialists and collaborators with America CIA full you and instill hatred and tribalism in you against your own leaders. To me the hero is always the Whiteman and that is what Ghanaians like to worship and slave for them. But hate their own kind who only Vision for Ghana and Africa was development and industrialization. Nkrumah did not had a bank account before he died? Ask yourself this question? Any other president who came after Nkrumah is rich today. Where did they got the money from?. please I thought this forum is for thinkers and intellectuals who want a better progress for Ghana and share constructive ideas but not insults and hate.
Thank you and God bless Ghana and you

The great visionary leader, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was not fully understood by his contemporaries at his time because he was so many light years ahead. All that he was fighting to avoid happening in Africa came to pass on the African soil after his voilent overthrow by the help of foreign powers of the west. Neo~Colonialism. We are now in the grip of the western powers than before. Everything is being dictated from outside the country because we cannot manufacture anything. All the research made during Dr. Nkrumah rule are onn the shelf. We need a bold and courageous leader to "sankofa" the real modified program of the great late president. We can achieve accelerated industrialization. We already have natural and the human recources to achieve that

I was a kid just as Samia too when Nkrumah was overthrown so most probably what we say about Nkrumah could be what we might have read or been taught by some teachers. I guess Samia did not receive most of the things she knows about her father directly from the man because she was too young even to understand when daddy was the president. It is a common knowledge that Nkrumah was pursuing one party state and life presidency just like his prodigy Zimbabwe president is demonstrating today. My question to Samia is: Would you prescribe the same agenda for Ghana given the chance to be the president of Ghana? Also when people claim "leaders after Nkrumah have betrayed his dreams" it suggests Ghana as a nation was Nkrumah's propject or some personal enterprise with no room for public participation. This is sad knowing the history that Nkrumah was brought down to be part of something he did not start. Without taking the glory of leading the nation into independence from him let us be bold to point out the mistakes he made. If Nkrumah was alive today and given the chance as the president still, he would have amended most of the ideas he stood for. Ghana could not have afforded socialism irrespective of his achievements as president. Let me point out that President Nkrumah was way ahead his people he did not wait for them, hence creating a very big gulf between them, that's why CPP has suffered till today. The party is still crying for Nkrumah because his ideologies did not fully sink with the people, even the entire continent of Africa

Mrs Nkrumah your are entitled to ur opinion on this platform. I would like to tell you the truth that you don't know, unless u get admitted to study Africa Politics at University of Ghana Legon before you will belief that corruption started in Ghana after Colonialism when ur father the late Nkrumah was president. Trust me if then Ghanaians had listen to the voice of independence within short possible time than independence now as preached by the late Pres. Belief me or not Ghana would have been far better than its now. We could have been compared with one of the developed countries therefore pls stop bragging about your selfish fathers ideology hating and imprisoning political icons who oppose him. I can't stand leaders who don't practice the principle of democracy and the late Nkrumah was worse in terms of Democracy. I challenge any democratic minded Ghanaian who will object my comment to come for a debate. South Africa upon apartheid are better off in terms of infrastructures but when the mantle of leadership was handed over to our black brothers what do we witness pure lack of wisdom and selfishness. Ghana would have been far better had the late Osagyefo concentrated in managing his own backyard that is Ghana than wanted to spend our money on united Africa. It was hard to get a continent with different languages united. Krobo Adusei was a corrupt member of CPP government and Nkrumah did nothing to him let the historians lecture u on how corrupt ur dad's CPP government was which has given birth to political power corruption in Ghana Politics
