A bungalow occupied by a doctor should belong to the Health Directorate. How could VRCC allocate the bungalow without the knowledge of the Regional Health Director. Is it a show of power? Just reallocate the bungalow to the poor doctor who sacrificed all her life for Volta Health Directorate.

I did my national service in the Upper West Region. Even now, when it is considered more developed, I was struck by how many non-Ghanaians were willing to leave their lives abroad come and live and serve there in the medical, teaching, and religious areas. Our own Ghanaians will refuse posting there, claiming primitive conditions. Now here is an absolutely dedicated lady who has given her life to Ghana - not in Accra where she will be noticed, but in Bolga and Ho. Now, in her old age, after safely delivering hundreds of babies, she does not even receive a pension. How is this possible? Does the Health Service not take care of its own? How come this lady has not been nominated for one of those national awards - even Agya Koo got one? Boy, do we have our priorities wrong? I don't know how to do those crowd-funding things, but I call on all those on Ghanaweb who know how to do it to set up a fund for this true child of Ghana - she, more than our greedy politicians, has shown what it means to be love a country. We should be ashamed of ourselves, treating her like this. Apologies for the long post, but my heart was really touched by this.

For Heaven's sake the VRCC should please reconsider the decision it had taken. We need to show some maturity in the positions we hold in this country and also put GOD first in our actions. This is a woman who left her country for more than four decades, dedicated her life to the Health Ministry and now patiently looking up to GOD for the day she will be called to Heaven should not be allowed to go through a mental agony.
