Jurisdictions like S.A,Europe, and the States,after 'chopping our scholarship money small"! The most effective way to promote good mental health and well-being,is to integrate the services these specialists provide with the existing social services network,so as to make the entire structure holistic! Many of the patients,who are currently being 'warehoused' in mental facilities,can get by with good supervision from social workers,adequately resourced to look after the day-to-day needs of clients,with support from immediate and extended family members. Our traditional social set-up structure,does lend itself to such an arrangement. And the State should make every effort to clean up the 'prayer camps',which have sprung up all over the place,ostensibly to 'cure' people of mental maladies!
