Contraindications of Mistletoe Tea
Effects of mistletoe to the body are not yet fully known to science; all we knew is that mistletoe has numerous compounds and some is known to be harmful to body. Therefore, very sick people, pregnant and nursing mothers should never take mistletoe. Mistletoe may cause allergies in some people, so first-time users should be watchful for symptoms (swelling, difficulty of breathing, rashes, etc.)
People who are taking drugs for medical conditions should consult their doctors first before taking mistletoe tea because of danger of drug interactions. For example, a person on anti-hypertensive medication who took mistletoe tea may experience dangerous drop of blood pressure.

If I may add a few points:
1. During the last decade or so, scientists have discovered that the human heart is quite "promiscuous" when it comes to interaction with drugs. Certain molecular pores in heart cells (called "ion channels") easily get plugged by many, many chemicals (including many natural compounds).
When that happens, the electrical profile of the heart is severely altered, leading to what is known as Long QT Syndrome, a potentially deadly condition.
This is why these days, before ANY drug is approved by the American FDA, it has to be tested for Long QT Syndrome (the test is called "hERG blockade").
2. This bit is for those who tend to mix hospital medication with herbal drugs.
Certain chemicals in herbs tend to either activate or suppress some proteins ("enzymes") in the liver. Normally, the liver uses these proteins (eg "CYP4") to breakdown chemicals we ingest.
Let's say a patient is on a blood pressure drug, say Amlodipine, and the patient also takes a herbal preparation that contains a chemical which increases the activity of the liver protein that processes amlodipine. Because of that effect on the liver enzyme, the dose of amlodipine in the blood would be greatly diminished, and the patient's blood pressure would shoot up.
Another instance is when the herbal preparation is acting in the same way as the hospital medication, leading to enhanced effects. Say, because a patient suffered a stroke, he's been put on a blood thinner (eg. "Coumadin"). Then he takes some herbs for his or her arthritis. If these herbs also contain potent blood thinning chemicals, the patient could bleed to death!
Drug-drug can be vary dangerous and in most cases the combination leads to completely different (and potentially deadly) effects.

Nana, it would be far more beneficial to treat a patient with cardiovascular diseases a mixture of:

To be orally administered on a daily basis as long as symptoms persists.

All medications are basically from herbs and trees and plants for which we are abundantly blessed with. Instead of us researching and studying their various uses and purposes for our own good, we`ve done a marvelous job by throwing them away and buying from abroad. The drugs happily bought from abroad have side-effects which dangerously are kept from us. This medical doctor is making some sense and must be listened to.
