Not just dementia but all the complex diseases should be featured on TV on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis, to reach the entire population as much as possible.
Misconceptions exist among the populace for many other complex diseases, particularly:
psychiatric illnesses(especially schizophrenia, bipolar, and depression-anxiety)
cardiovascular (paticularly heart attacks as caused by enlarged hearts, CHF, coronary artery disease, and atrial fibrillation and its possible link t stroke)
cancer (especially prostate, breast, ovarian, and pituitary)
complex infections (notably hepatitis)
autoimmune disorders (especially rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc)
diabetes (the difference between Type 1 and Type 2)
Etc.
Every week or two, bring an expert to the airwaves to cover one of the above. If possible, the TV broadcast should include computer animations as well as short real-life movies.

This is an excellent idea. Let's ensure that this form of education is directed at journalists who cover crime stories, all adults, and all children in the society. Focus on the North where witchcraft accusations against elderly women is rife. Educate the owners of prayer camps. In fact, leave out no one. I have made a similar suggestion elsewhere and it's pleasing to learn that others share the same idea.

Very very good suggestion but this needs to be done through media,concerts,churhes etc because when people donot know they just donot know and only education can quiete their thoughts about all kinds of illnesses especially most associated with aging Alzheimers,Dementia,Thyroidism,BP,Diabetes,Asthma,Menaupause,Erectal dysfunction,Lose of lobido in women and men,Vaginal dryness etc.because several people are suffering in the quiete because folks shy or ashamed to talk about their ailments.There is no shame in sickness because everybody can fall sick anytime.Thanks.
