Ghana neeed to seriously procure a comprehensive AMBULANCE SERVICE with ambulances in schools, fire stations, clinics, hospitals and at all government Agencies and Offices. For a developed country to have pits citizens die in taxis and tro-tro because of lack of Ambulances is just unacceptable. I suggest the writer and all NGOs and citizens send a send a letter to the Minister of Health and Parliament to pay a budget for this priority ASAP. The Ambulances MUST BE PROCURED IMMEDIATELY

Ghana plans to spend 12.5% of its total budget on healthcare in 2013, which amounts to about 136 GHS for each person. This means that Ghana is close but still failing to fulfill its commitment to ring-fence 15% of total government spending for health, in what is known as the Abuja Declaration.
But here in the 37 military hospital, a patient is made to pay an amount of 500 cedis before he or she is transferred to a ward to rest IF ONLY you have the national health card but should it happen that you don't have, then you are being made to pay 1000 cedis. Not for drugs or the main health care delivery bill.
So in this case we are to still believe the government or not?
