  I have said time and again that NHIA is an insurance establishment and must be run by professionals NOT POLITICIANS! The problem started with the NDC who came to power and dismissed those who were in there because they were alleged to be NPP people. The program was started by NPP so they couldn't have asked the NDC to staff it! Now the incompetent replacement staff will definitely go when a new government comes into office. When are we going to allow Ghanaian professionals to run Ghanaian institutions? Sacking people and replacing them with incompetent party people is not another type of job creation.

  Dr. Nsiah Asare is quite correct! NHIA is the heartbeat of finance for health care in Ghana. Health care institutions in Ghana are already in trouble because of the failed promises of Sylvester Mensah. There is a phrase in Akan "kye kye wo were" - surrender your head. Handing this critically important post over to anyone who is not up to the job means Ghana surrenders its head. I agree with Kofi's comments already posted.
