I think that what the ladies are trying to say is that some women (especially in rural areas) are not comfortable with men examining them. I, for one, prefer female gynaecologists and I always seek them first.

I still don't understand. Women in rural areas are comfortable with male Doctors. Why can't the same men be their obstetrics caregiver. A male Dr has access to any part of his patient's body as appropriate, so why can't the m ...

We have enough problems as it is already without adding to it another dangerous layer. Let's separate the sexes as much as possible. There is a reason God made us differently.

GOOD POINT.THE INCONVENIENCY OF A MALE MIDWIFE IS GOING TO BE REALLY HURTENING TO THE HUSBAND.MAYBE I DONT IS BECAUSE OF MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO UBDERSTAND.

  • jayjay 11 years ago

For every male midwife, we would need an additional female nurse, or female doctor to chaperone him. Why dont we simply encourage more female midwives instead of paying two people to do the job of one person?
