ARE THERE ANY SIGNS THAT TELL MOTORISTS TO NOT PARK OR STOP TO LOAD? WHERE WERE KUMASI CITY POLICE OFFICERS INSTEAD? NO NEED FOR KMA OFFICAL IN THIS SCENARIO. THE MOTORIST SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED A TICKET TO GO TO COURT N EITHER PAY THE FINE OR PLEAD HIS INNOCENCE. HIS CAR PLATES AND LICENSE ARE IDS THAT CAN BE USED TO EITHER SUSPEND HIS LICENSE FOR NOT PAYING OR TO LOOK FOR HIS WHEREABOUTS. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IN WESTERN NATIONS. IN GH, OUR LEADERS ARE DUMBER THAN DOGS. THEY TRAVEL FOR NOTHING ONLY TO LOOK AROUND LIKE VILLAGE TOKES N RETURN HOME THINKING THEY RE NOW CIVILISED. GO TO SOUTH AFRICA, AND U WONT SEE THIS HAPPENENIG BECOS THEY HAVE A WESTERN AN CIVILISED COMMON SENSE WAY OF DOING THINGS. THE KMA OFFICIAL WILL COLLECT THE MONEY N POCKET IT. COME TOMORROW AND U WILL SEE ANOTHER MOTORISTS LOADING IN THE SAME SPOT. WHAT LESSONS HAVE BEEN LEARNED? HAS THE CITY OF KUMASI MADE ANY MONEY FROM THE STUPIDITY OF MOTORISTS? NO....THE DRIVER SHOULD BE FINED AND MADE TO APOLOGISE AND PAY ANY MEDICAL BILLS OF THE KMA. THE STUPID MAYOR MUST SIT WITH CITY COUNCIL AND PROPOSE A WESTERN WAY FO HANDLING TRAFFIC ISSUES IN THE CITY. THIS IS PRIMITIVE...

We need to invest in new prisons in Ghana. It is only when punishment becomes the order of the day in Ghana that the nation will begin to change.

I just returned from Ghana and what you just said is the absolute truth about that country. Lawlessness and indiscipline is the order of the day especially Kumasi. I came across a situation whereby a passenger was trying to attack a police man for stopping their car to check the driver's particulars, and the passenger think the young police man doesn't have any right to stop them because he is in hurry. Him and another guy even wanted to beat up the policeman, so I jump in to defend the cop. Ghanaians can call for Jesus Christ to come and rule that country physically, until we change our attitude, I fear for the future of that country. The future of that country is bleak, and I can tell you it is not only the government who is responsible for the current hardship in the country. 70% of the problem comes from ordinary folks on the street.

Beating an employee of a metropolitan area??
If the driver had dared that in any European city, he would have spent at least 5 years behind bars.
Emplyoees of city councils/ metropolitan areas are UNTOUCHABLE and are protected by the law to the maximum. If you only insult them, you'll be fined let alone beating them. Such measures are neccesary to bring order and sanity into the system.
Ghana has really turned into a jungle country. Everybody does what they want.

Yes, the driver would likely be jailed in Europe, for assault. But on the other hand, the 'official' would also be prosecuted, for trying to extort money from hard-working people.
