    The thief must surely be punished, but certainly not with a very stupid judgement of 8 years behind bars.
    The state ends up spending more on him than he stole, and there is no guarantee he is going to reform in our congested ...

    People steal millions and walk free. Someone steal slippers and get 8 years with hard labour. Someone carry cocaine to aeroplane for drug trafficking and is set free. What a stupid country called Ghana.

    Eight years for stealing slippers in a failed nation while in canada this thief would have given a fine or warning or both.
