This is the kind of Judge giving Ghanaian Judges bad name.
"In addition, he said there was no evidence before him that the suspects unlawfully entered the studio premises as the panellists were discussing the Bishop; so he was discharged on that one too."
Is this Judge that stupid a bribe will blind him to make such a stupid statement? Who invited Obinim and his thuggish friends to the studio?
"Furthermore, Justice Iddrisu said the state did not lead evidence to show that the suspects were the ones who caused unlawful damage to the property of the station because the state were unable to prove which of them damaged the said studio equipment."
If those fools have not gone to the studio uninvited and caused the ruckus there, those equipments would not have been damaged. This Judge has dismissed the heinous charges against Obinim and is hanging on to only one charge of causing bodily harm.
"Justice Iddrisu noted that the evidence before him showed there was confusion at the studio, making it unclear who actually caused damage to the studio equipment."
Really? So the Radio station Employees caused the damage to their own equipment? Even if by mistake the Radio station employees caused damage to the equipments, it would not have happened if those fools have not gone there to cause trouble and the Judge should have followed common sense and the law that allows him to do that to establish the culprits but he had his bribe money already banked so "YENTIE OBIAA EVIDENCE" was applied.

You entered somebody's premises without a permit to attack people because they were discussing you which is part of their duty, you went there to cause damage to people and property but a Judge didn't see anything wrong with that but to say they don't know who caused the damage.
So what is wrong with that prosecutor,she didn't see anything wrong with that judgement to appeal to get those criminals jailed,so the company has to pay 130,580 cedis of damage caused by this Obinim guy and his fellow criminals calling themselves pastors?

The Judiciary is the most corrupt and dangerous institution in this country - worse than the Police.With power in their hands to decide the fate of a citizen,the judges are susceptible to under the table bribes that are hard to detect and prosecute. Thus,those who have money and connections in the society - like Mpiani,Wireko-Brobby,Obinim and others,just walk free.However,let a hungry man steal some plantains and he's sent to prison for ten years. As someone said,when the revolution arrives the judges would be the first to answer to the people. Certainly, Justice Iddrisu would be among those at the top of the list.

For a case whose facts occurred in public view to drag on for such a long time gives credence to a very corrupt judiciary in Ghana. Even cases which require laboratory or forensic examinations are concluded in far shorter times.
The famous Oscar Pistorius murder trial (which is of higher profile than the Obinim case) started nearly 2 years after the Obinim case had started. Interestingly, it took less than one year to conclude the Oscar Pistorius case but the Obinim case is now in its 4th year and it does not appear it will come to conclusion soon.
It seems the judge handling this case does not know any shame at all. We are all waiting for him to tell us that it is lawful for a gang to enter a broadcast studio to vandalise its equipment.
