The headline says 'Mallam' but the text says 'Malian'. Anyway, whoever this man is, as a businessman, what was he thinking when told he could be a rich man literally without doing anything? What kind of business is he engaged in? Yes, Legally, the police have to act but as Peeee has said here it's a case of ' Dog Bite Dog'. To be frank, the Police have more on their plate and cases like these should not detract them from their heavy responsibilities.Check their Residence Permits and if there is any doubt, take both of them to the Border and let them loose on the other side!

Member of Parliament for Pru in the Brong Ahafo region Dr. Kwabena Donkor is blaming the poor state of the Ghana’s economy on what he calls intellectual laziness on the part of our leaders.
According to him, the structure of the country’s economy has remained the same for over a century, a situation he blames on lack of creativity on past and present leaders.
Speaking to Joy News correspondent Elton John Brobbey, Dr. Kwabena Donkor who is also the Chairman of Parliament’s Mines and Energy Committee said Ghana can address the huge unemployment and create wealth if it starts to add value to its raw materials.
He added: "We are sitting on 1.2 billion tonnes of iron ore in the Northern region, 700 million tonnes of bauxite at Kyebi. If we put our hearts to it, they can serve as the basis of an industrial take-off".
But the MP says leadership lacks the awareness because they "are being intellectually lazy and going for the easier options".
He laments that about 250, 000 students graduate from tertiary institutions looking for jobs, yet the mentality of leadership has not yet found out any new thinking needed to harness resources that can create opportunities for young people.

If one can be this silly to fall for such a scam one should also be silly enough to play by the rules of the game. The simple and straightforward instruction was "thou shall not open this bag until after 3 days". Whose fault is it then if the Mallam chose not to comply with the instruction by opening the bag the same day (instead of 3 days later) and finds the anticipated huge wealth turns out to be sand? The Mallam should better learn to follow instructions to the letter the next time he chooses to play this kind of game again (so the magician would have ample time to flee).

I think Daily Guide deliberately used MALLAM in the heading in order to sell their newspaper. Dishonesty at its best. And a lot of people here are commenting without even noticing this fraud. The only benefit to Ghana brought by ECOWAS has been an open border for the influx of Nigerian crooks. The days when African countries contemplated having open borders and free movement of their citizens has long vanished into thin air. The corruption of these African countries that has led to economic and political retrogression has ensured that liberalization of trade and immigration will only serve to drive criminal elements from their various countries to countries like Ghana where they can ply their trade with the knowledge that the chance of their apprehension is minimal. ECOWAS has benefited only the politicians and criminals.
