  Chieftancy has become anachronic in Ghana and is an impediment to development.Some, and I say some of the chiefs are so corrupt that they are selling lands to the highest bidder and foreigners such that Ghanians are price3d out of the market. Again some of them are so greedy that they lease vast tracts of land to sand excavaters, miners and galamsey operators,which is causing untold enviromental destruction . The result is pulluted waterways and disease. They do this without any plan of restoring the damage they cause to the land. They engage in wanton litigation, which you see in this instance, as to who is the rightful heir to the throne. I now understand why Nkrumah relagated chieftancy to zero during his rule. They, the chiefs are becoming bigger than Ghana and should be put to order. They stand in the way of progress.
