Romeo Owusu Antwi, popularly called Tupac, who has been on the police wanted list for some time now, has been nabbed.
The 18-year-old man had allegedly been terrorizing the people of Ash Town and nearby areas in the Manhyia South Constituency.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command finally apprehended him at his hideout on Tuesday, and he is currently being interrogated by the law enforcement agents.
Two other suspected hoodlums who have been terrorizing the people of Ash Town have also been busted.
They are Ras Ofori Agyeman, aka ‘K-Cross,’ 23 and Evans Agyei, 20, and they are also being interrogated by the police.
DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, described the arrest of the three hoodlums as a major breakthrough in the fight against crime.
Tupac had been linked with several crimes in Ash Town but he had managed to escape arrest all this while.
He was arrested for possessing firearms but was granted bail by the court about two months ago.
He is also accused of stabbing one Ahmed in the back with a sharp knife at Manhyia, a suburb of Kumasi.
Again, he has been accused of robbing innocent people of their valuables, including mobile phones and other precious items.
On the part of K-Cross and Evans Agyei, they have been linked with several robbery cases but they usually escaped arrest.
DCOP Kofi Boakye said the suspects would be paraded at the police headquarters in Kumasi on Tuesday for identification.
He therefore admonished people in the city, notably those who had fallen prey to the suspected armed robbers, to come and identify them.
The Ashanti Regional police boss stated that the police would go all out to apprehend all miscreants who had been harassing innocent people through their fiendish activities.
The police commander entreated the public to constantly provide the police with vital information that would lead to the arrest of criminals.
